what we do
Codesign Toscana applies approaches and methodologies such as design thinking , and community and groups engagement for the provision of services and the organization of activities related to fields such as social innovation, sustainability, transculturality and the quality of life within the urban context. More specifically, the typology of services that we offer are related to three main categories of activities to be considered highly interconnected, namely research, design, training and consulting.
RESEARCH
Codesign Toscana promotes activities inspired by applied social science and design research tools. Additionally, through white papers and scientific publications, it promotes the dissemination of co-design practices and knowledge on themes about urban sustainability, designing-community empowerments, and social innovation.
DESIGN
We deal with tactical urbanism practices, support masterplan definition processes through service design and eco-design. We are a laboratory of innovative concepts for the ideation, planning and writing of European tenders.
TRAINING
The Association has been established as a platform of knowledge and skill sharing among its members. All its activities present educational objectives and aim to increase the competences and the design autonomy of the participants. Cooperative learning, and the usage of a learning by doing approach, are the distinctive elements of the horizontal transmission methodology we propose during our workshops. We also take care of an Open Source Learning platform where you can download the tools we use and enhance our research.
CONSULTANCY
Codesign Toscana provides services about design, implementation and facilitation of research and co-design activities, training and community engagement for public and private entities, for-profit and nonprofit business entities. We promote the dissemination of the design and collaborative design culture by giving an answer to challenges and opportunities that are proposed by organizations or territorial groups.
