A research and co-design path for all citizens, dedicated to stimulating civic imagination starting from the urban forestation interventions of Prato Urban Jungle.
With Junglathon, we designed a three-step initiative to get citizens involved in a larger project (Prato Urban Jungle) related to the promotion of urban sustainable futures.
Urban forests, such as those proposed during our codesign sessions, represent an extension of urban green spaces: they grow vertically on buildings and infrastructures, but also horizontally through relational mechanisms triggered by codesign and research processes.
The idea behind the Junglathon is that urban forests (the fulcrum of the Prato Urban Jungle project) represent an extension of urban greenery, growing on one side vertically towards the sky and along the walls of buildings and on the other horizontally in the surrounding social fabric, through relational and planning mechanisms triggered by research, co-design, training and participation paths.
